so i was just talking with one of my friends in class today about cars today, and he asked me why I didnt just drop turbos on my engine
I start by telling him that i COULD just do that, but my engine wouldnt hold up for very long
i told my friend the block was the same, but the compression ratios are different between the TT and NA and that i'd have to replace pistons, or get a thicker head gasket... and if i was going to tear the engine down that i'd do it right and build the bottom end upthen some guy sitting next to us comes into our converstion "ohh you guys are talking about 300Z's?"
im like yeah..... i have one
hes like so do I and asks me if i have a turbo
Im like "since you've been listening to our conversation, i've been talking about changing mine into a turbo"
hes like, ohh I did that to my Z
so im like "ohh really what all did it take"
"well since the turbo is a I6 and the N/A is a V6 we had to put two turbos on my block, because of the V6 design... but its so much faster then the factory version could ever be because two turbos are better then one"
Im all like, "ohh really... i didnt know the factory turbo was a I6... and i thought that the TWIN turbo meant two turbos"
hes all like... "well, it means that its got a double turbo"
"OHH WHATS A DOUBLE TURBO"
"well its really technical, BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA" then he tells me that he put two greddy T88 turbos on his car
I asked him how built up the engine was, and he said that turbos cant mess up the engine so he didnt bother building up the engine.. but that he just had the rods re-sleved!!!! at this point im just like shaking my head wishing this guy had never heard of the 300zx so i ask him how fast hes run... "well a 9.31 (or something in the 9 seconds) but i did a wheelie so i could run atleast 8s if i didnt get the front end off the ground. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
he just kept talking, about how he had BC sport headers, Type R racing this and that then he told me that he was pushing at least 900 horses, maybe 1000
hahahahaha anyways, sorry for the long post... but this guy just made me glad that im a part of this forum so i kinda know what the fuck is going on peace,
